Its funny

Its funny

A Poem by Meagan

Its funny. You’re so quick to defend the wrong side. Why, because he’s dead? What if I was the one that was dead, and he lived? Would you defend my side instead, disown the monster that lived? Doubtful. Instead I get to live remembering, dealing, rationalizing. All while you tell me, he’s sorry from beyond the grave. How the f**k do you know? You question my truths. What did you expect to happen to us? You were supposed to be someone I could forever count on. Someone I could call for no reason. Someone I could call my best friend in the loneliest of times. Forever. We place a lot of meaning on that word; forever. You place a lot of meaning on a lot of words. That’s all you are though are words. Thankfully I’ve come to realize that sooner rather than later. Your hate comes out at its best with those pesky things; words. Strangely enough, your wrongdoings have strengthened me to an extent. In the most fucked sense, you’ve made me stronger and have helped me grow. That’s funny.
