Hide and Seek

Hide and Seek

A Poem by Michael Perez

Sometimes I just want to run and hide
cuz you never know what is waiting outside.
Why must I suffer in this infernal place,
when others seem to thrive in this huge rat race.

Hopes are only dreams, nothing more,
and I can never be scared anymore.

The injustice, the prejudice, just make me sick,
where can I hide from this world full of hicks?
But few, not many, are here taking the path,
not to find hope, but to avoid God's wrath.

Nice, although you definitely represented your voice, I like how your self could easily shade as this is basically the view of our times, another sign of it is that you kept the language in harmony with them, with exception of 'wrath', I see everyday's speech here :) That 'cuz' in particular really stands out.

I do feel that your other poem "I am..." was much better but this is interesting. I find myself contemplating about it just because of its length (not that poems have to be long) but just "to avoid God's wrath" was just an interesting concept to me.

Very interesting..

Hey, I am 15 and I love to read and to write poems. I once tried to write stories, but they just lacked Detail, and I know if I am bored with a book, a reader surely will be! So I gave poetry a shot.. more..
