Through a Child's Eyes

Through a Child's Eyes

A Poem by Meg
"

A blank verse poem (sort of) that just about killed me to write.

"

The simplest thing holds mystery beyond,

And everything is one gigantic game.

The world holds more than older ones believe;

Their eyes are dimmed to incandescent light

Which shines upon a world of childish things

Years seem to bring the shadow that destroys

The childish innocence we hold so dear

And leaves an empty hollow where once full.

A boring, endless droning on of life.

Each day the selfsame tread until the end.
