A slave no more

A slave no more

A Poem by Michael

A slave to addiction
You cant escape
Try to kill the painwith the pain
Its all you know
How to cope how to deal
With this life
Life is coldlife is real
But..

You want the fear
Need the fear
Cause your alone

Deep inside..
You hate to feel what is real
But what is real
When
Your all alone..

To Break the chains
No one has known
Unknown to touch
You cant miss this..
It was never known
But now you know.
Your not alone

This is amazing and speaks wonder to a past life.
Sometimes few words can paint a huge picture.

This is very encouraging Michael. You are right when you talk about being a "slave" to addiction. It's one of the worst type of bondages I know! The clincher and the root of all addiction:

Deep inside..
You hate to feel what is real
But what is real
When
Your all alone..

Alone with our thoughts and our...

PAIN! It is so easy to run and find escape in addiction. Sadly the bandaide falls off and is facing us all over again. A Vicious cycle of defeat! This was superb and so full of truth! Looking forward to reading more of your pieces!!! carole

I like this piece, it's kind of hopeful... "Try to kill the painwith the pain" This is so true... I'm a slight masochist and whenever i feel pain or anything like that all I need is good bite on my neck lol... This is really good. It deals on a good subject, great job! I love the ending where you say you're not alone...
