The Show Goes On

The Show Goes On

A Poem by Save the Trees, Save the World
"

not yet

"

I’m counting your breathes

You song, shallow and raspy,

Is loosing its strength

We don’t have long know

You’re slipping away

And all I can do is sit there

Watching the curtain fall

Slowly

Slowly

So

Slowly

Everyone leaves the theater

But me

I’m all alone

Scared and cold

I’m right here

In the front row

Waiting for you to make your grand entrance

I know it hurts

But, the show must go on

It has to

Come back

Come back

Don’t stop singing

Don’t stop singing

The show can’t be over

Not yet

Not now

Not ever

mmm...i like it. packed with emotion. i like the metaphor (or what seems to be a metaphor) of a show needing to go on for (i'm guessing) life or love. i was clued in to the fact that someone died by the 'rest in peace' under the title...otherwise i'm not sure i would've realized that. that might do well with being a little clearer...or not...
either way, this is a wonderful poem. keep up the good work.
