Why don't you believe me

When I say I've been bleeding

Why do I have to prove to you

I'm allowed to hurt too

I'm allowed to feel this

It's not sunny bliss

It's hopelessness

I'm allowed to hurt 

It's not pretty flowers

It's getting kicked in the dirt

I'm allowed to feel this

Why kick me when I'm down

Why pretend I'm not drowning

Why do you not see

I'm scared of being me

It's not under my control

It's the moments before a fall

I'm allowed to feel this

Human emotions are the greatest mysteries in the book of life, we all have them but we all react differently to them. Reading how others react and deal with the many moments in life where they can and often do overwhelm us is a great education. Learning to deal with the moment our emotions are devastated can not only teach us how to save a relationship but save the lives of those emotionally crushed. Great lesson ML, keep teaching us how to make the world a better place :~)

I'm allowed to hurt is a line which reads almost terrific to me. Just as I'm scared of being me. Gives me the impression that someone is frequently taking the other one down, making this person feel absolutely self conscious. Though maybe only my interpretation.
