Sight of death

Sight of death

A Poem by Saki Kikkio
"

Someone has to do it

"
With deep breath
Steady movements
Ease away the pain
As it swell in your chest
look down the scope
Look into their eyes

Hold your breath
Just one moment
Just one twitch
Your job is done
A man has lost his life

None expected it
Not him
Not his wife
Not his children

What have I done

Playing god
Taking lives
As if I hold justice
For this I am punished
I doesn't get harder
It only gets easier

A very emotional piece...I'm sure these are the kinds of things a sniper or any soldier has going through their mind at the time...well done :)
