PosterityA Poem by linearTracing
out an ivory, though wasted life Looking
through the many scarlet lies I
have perchance come to see That
all was not, or never was as I expected to find You
know those fabrications were not all mine Yet
in turns, fast running out of time The
age of ruin was not defined To
me, and yes to you too! Age
stares out of refracted glass Skin
once firm now hangs in flaps My
life like a wheel is running fast Although
I write nothing lasts Futility
mixed with a longing for a youth wasted In
foolish trivial pursuits A
cycle of girls, parties and various debaucheries Has
in the end left me with far to many friends They
hang on Like
leeches bleeding the sacrificial calf Ivory
towers do not forever inspire My
end in plaintive sight Is
not a thing I would wish to behold If
only I could leave Just
a single lasting mark! © 2012 linearReviews
