The Poet's Fate

The Poet's Fate

A Poem by Michael
"

I'm not sure why poets seem to suffer, we just do. Perhaps everyone does, just poets have an outlet to express it.

"

I love with feelings never felt
by others alive today.
My heart lives where poets dwelt
in days that have given way.

Months and years have passed along
as the world then changed its pace
and poets lost their guiding song
in the din of this fateful race.

To love with feelings again profound
is to be misunderstood.
Hearts demand a familiar sound
beyond what newness ever could.

Love's lost in an endless deep
beguiling the very few.
Perhaps that's why the poets weep
in a world so bright and new.

I think we all live and love a little vicariously, especially those who read and write poetry. The heart and soul pours out to us in their daily experiences expressed to us as they search for understanding. Sometimes saying things out loud or onto paper is healing for us I agree, I think that is why we do it. Sush a lovely poem Michael :)

It's true...we do suffer.....perhaps because we feel so deeply.

It certainly does have cadence - beautiful cadence and such heartfelt emotion. Can totally relate to your expression here - well done Michael - I love it!
