Prayer Of The Bullied

Prayer Of The Bullied

A Poem by Undying Glory
"

Another high-school version of a song, this time it's "Prayer Of The Refugee" by Rise Against. Hope you like it!

"
Prayer Of The Bullied

Warm yourself by the table, dude,
The mornings come too soon.
And before you know it you have to wake up
To another miserable day at school.
Before the time when they came last year
And made our lives just hell,
We could live our lives in peace,
From start until the final bell.

Don't push me around now
I can stand my own ground
I'm not scared of you now
You won't take me down, down, down!

Don't push me around now
I can stand my own ground
I'm not scared of you now
You won't take me down, down, down!
Down!

We are the angry and the desperate,
The weaklings and the geeks.
We are the ones who kept quiet
Even when they called us "freaks".
But we've been suffering while they pound us all
And walk away and laugh.
They won't leave us alone when we come home
Even when we take a different path.

Don't push me around now
I can stand my own ground
I'm not scared of you now
You won't take me down, down, down!

Don't push me around now
I can stand my own ground
I'm not scared of you now
You won't take me down, down, down!

So open your eyes, guys, let's be on our way
When we rise up and fight, they can't stand in our way
Keep quiet no longer, we'll sing through the day
About the lives that we lost, and the lives we reclaimed...

GO!

Don't push me around now
I can stand my own ground
I'm not scared of you now
You won't take me down, down, down!

Don't push me around now
I can stand my own ground
I'm not scared of you now
You won't take me down, down, down!

Don't push me around!
(I'm not scared of you, I'll stand my ground)
Don't push me around!
(I'm not scared of you)
NO! NO! NO!
Don't push me around!
(I'm not scared of you, I'll stand my ground)
Don't push me around!
(I'm not scared of you, I'll stand my ground)
Can't take me down, down, down, down, down!

This is very much written like a song. It has a gentle tone I can a hear a voice reading it to me thats sounds so timid but trying not to be. Trying to gain strength and as I keep reading the voice seems to getting so tired of being weak. I'm not saying this could your voice but it's what my mind hears reading your poem. I think your lines are so meaningful and I can tell this is written from the heart
