Transitions

We love it all and it all

has vanished. Change

drags us past dark doors

and onto empty moors,

erases all we have known,

dust and bone. Our faces

drift down into distant

gray and we ache to see

that vanish, too. As

creatures of shifting sands,

we do know, and know

too much. Our birth,

a scream, our death,

a quiet sigh as all

the doors and empty fields

drift by. And all the pages

in between are change,

ever change, ever change.

A poetic stimulant of interpretations...

Very smooth transitions. I look at how verse is broken into lines, feeling that how a writer does that makes or breaks the piece. Seeing as each line is very short, the line breaks have to be strategically intentional. In that way, this prose comes across with huge volume, speed, and message. A touch of perfection doesn't hurt. Bravo.

if a sense of the whole doesn't open in our hearts somewhere along the way, we become the very definition of lost...happy trails
