Wishes for the hopeless ...

Wishes for the hopeless ...

A Poem by micky

Wishes for the hopeless ...

Were you there when I needed you?
Were you there when I didn't know what to do?
What happened to you when you left me all alone?
Where were you when I was standing on my own?

Well now it doesn't matter anymore
Because I closed the door
So don't come around
For we are no longer bound

I wish that is what happened to you and I
But the truth is that was all a lie
For death took you and left me here
All there was to gain is no longer was there anything to fear

And now... I don't know to be honest

Being gripped by grief comes through very clearly, losing someone close to you is never easy. I can feel the pain as I have lost many close relatives which is probably true for many people, and a nice tribute to your friend. Line break at the end was very poignant and heart wrenching statement. Nice emotive piece!

Lots of regret woven throughout your lines, death is never easy, but when it leaves us with so many unanswered questions, it just makes it that much harder. Well said.

Honest and direct poetry. Some heartache is for the lifetime. We learn to live with the pain and regret or give into it. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

You are right. Dead is dead. Alive must stand and remember.
