Six Feet From The Edge

Six Feet From The Edge

A Poem by Michael
"

I wrote this way back in high school, I was only 16...18 years ago..

"
I'm up on a building
Deciding what to do
Should I go over the edge
Or should I go with you
You cared enough to come up
And try to talk me down
But I was to bull headed
And didn't turn around
Now I'm in the grave
Six foot under
I realize the pain I've caused
But I chose to go under
Under the light of life
Into the darkness of death
Forever lost without a cause
Please Lord forgive me
I didn't want to fall.

Suicide is a cry for help. Unfortunately it is a cry too late! An old friend of mine killed himself several years back. We were old friends, going back to our school days, and we went on holiday together. We played in a band together (he was a drummer, I was - and still am - a guitarist). His sister was the one who found him, hanging in his own hallway at home. So sad. I still think of him often. A poignant poem!

Hey,

This was great. Well- not like... It was greatly written. The way it all flowed together was awesome, and the way you managed to make me picture this going on? Not a lot of writers can do that to people.

This kinda touched me deeply, and maybe it was the words or maybe it was the emotions you undoubtedly put into it, but it was awesome-whatever it was
