It Was a Worthy Fight

It Was a Worthy Fight

A Poem by Kyle W. Hunt

A small pain is that I walk with each day

As I travel these forgotten valleys

Underneath the sun I begin to lay

All because the general storms war rallies

The sun beats down on our backs as we walk

Taken away from those we love, to fight

We used to be such simple-minded folk

Now we stand to battle for what is right

The dust begins to settle on the ground

The victor is seen through the hazy dust

The hero walked to lay his weapon down

It was much too late to gain their trust

They struck our hero down where he stood

Blood shed from battle, we did all we could

I like it. It has a great story line to it and the ending wraps the poem up very well.
