Private Affair

Private Affair

A Poem by Amy

As I wave goodbye to you,

you call me over,

and kiss me one last time,

knowing what we did was wrong,

but at the same time it felt so right,

for when I’m with you, I feel alive,

but you are in love with her,

even though tonight she isn’t near,

but you turn to me,

not because you love me,

but because you enjoy it,

and I come to you already knowing where you stand,

satisfying you in ways that she can’t,

defying our faith,

yet we both don’t seem to care,

for letting you be inside me,

is a feeling that I cannot resist,

I move to the rhythm of your movement,

and you lead me to an unknown world,

where nothing else exists but you and I,

your faint whisper, touches the small of my neck,

and slowly makes its way to my lips,

we are connected,

not even God would want to separate us,

because we fit,

I don’t seem to care anymore,

I am no where near contrite,

The night can only last so long,

as I see myself to the door,

and you pull away,

knowing that it was just another night…

This poem certainly got my attention. Who's to say what is or isn't. We all have choices to make. We just hope we make the right ones. Nice Write.
