My Angel

God sent me an angel, in my desperate time of need

To comfort and guide my soul

During hope's insistant efforts to flee

His wings wrapped tightly round me

Consoling me softly with many great truths

In a language no mortal could ever attempt to speak

In reminiscent phrases that reside somewhere in my youth

Although barely comprehending, I placed my hand within his

My angel filled within me the light and spirit

Divine love remains the reason that I live
