Miles

Miles

A Poem by Mizuki Tsukiakari

My eyes see now that distance is just an illusion.
We stare in wonder
at the stars, collections of dust
and sparkles exploded into a gravitational mass
and yearn to see them, touch them, feel them...
But little do we,
with our narrow minds,
grasp that all that shines so far from us
is really deep down inside of our souls.
Close your eyes and see the stars
explode in your soul, touch them with your heart,
feel them in every way.
My eyes see now that the miles
that separate us from the stars,
or continents from continents,
are illusions.
All at once we are connected
as one,
the world united.

But the night sky's sparkles
will never
cease to unveil
the many miles
from here to there.
So we will watch them
and ponder with our poetry,
you there
and
I here,
forever.

You will feel me
with every
moonbeam,
and I you with every
drop of rain
the angels in the
heavens cry down on to
this earth.

And so we will ponder with our poetry,
you there,
and I...
I here.
Forever.

Mizuki Tsukiakari
I haven't written in so long, it feels good to finally be in that place where I feel comfortable writing again. I would love to hear some criticism; I can't get better unless I find out what I can improve on, so please you're opinions are welcomed
