The Darkest Night

The Darkest Night

A Poem by Kimberly "Melody" Carney

Withered hands grasp mine eyes

Flesh decayed sprits defiled

Downward they pull my soul

To the depths I fall

Consuming me whole

On the darkest night

My breath is lost

My screams now stop

Still feeling the fire within

A sickened soul spin

Body like stone

Senses intensified

I beg for my soul

On the darkest night

No light

No air

Utter despair

Fallen

Unforgiving

Eternal damnation

This darkest night

I understand this was a bet to write a dark poem, and though you have apparently seen much of pain, unhappiness, and upheaval, your spirit yet desires to move closer to goodness - this is a sign that you are a survivor! Your works speak of that which is dark - even that which you see as the darkest night, yet you still reach out to grasp the light by not fully embracing the depths of despair!
The dark can be oh so very, very sad and lonely. It is how we allow it to penetrate, or even overtake us that is the answer to how one walks through the darkest night.
You are seeing the specks of light that are hidden to so many!

I have had a few of these nights...evil sets in and tries to take over...we have to be strong, its how we survive.

Only the ones, who have seen true darkness, can be brighten up, in purity, without being afraid anymore. Amazing poem, amazing words. Keep it up love!

There are to me, a few little hiccups within, but it's a strong piece. Very emotional.
