The String TheoryA Poem by Michael StevensNot that one!I know less that nothing about that particular
branch of science if that's what you're
thinking--this is about an avalanche,
the strange bits of thought that
bombard my brain this time of day, before coffee and common sense
comes out to play.
Flickers of bullshit flash across
my brain in a rainbow of colors--I'm like an eight-cylinder
running on four--I know
not where these mystery thoughts
come from--they're just a string of random impulses, like some kind
of bizarre mood ring
I'm wearing on the end of my
neck--disjointed thoughts that are quite disturbing, but that
I can't control--these are not
your normal thoughts--these are not
thoughts to soothe the savage beast. No, I think I should be committed,
or restrained, at the very least! © 2016 Michael StevensAuthor's Note
