Disaster At The Touch Of A Button

Disaster At The Touch Of A Button

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

Just a 'click' away

"
Funny how with the push of a button, in this case 'send',

you can bring a years-long friendship to an end

Months are gone and haven't heard a peep,

don't know what I said, but I feel the creep.

A throw-away line and you say something that you'll regret,

If only I could figure it out, but I haven't as of yet

In my desire to say something humorous and make an impact

I sometimes get carried away, and that's an undeniable fact.

The sad truth dawns on you after you've just clicked that button,

as the adrenaline speeds to your brain, but there's nuttin'

you can do, now it's out there with a sign saying, 'please be offended!'

And another friendship is lost, an electronic friendship is ended!
