'Patriots Bar'--500 Days

'Patriots Bar'--500 Days

A Poem by Michael Stevens
"

Song for the age

"

Verse:

Friday night down at Patriots Bar,

where paranoia defines who you are

Hoist a few among see-through friends

Conspiracy of the day? Well that all depends

Pre-Chorus:

You'll see nothing but the truth on Fox T. V.

They tell it like it is--or how it should be

Verse:

They say they're coming for your 27 guns

Them vs. you and the other enlightened ones

Big brother's looking to take away your rights

The coming Armageddon has you in its sites

Repeat Pre-Chorus:

Verse:

Big Jim doesn't like the direction we take,

the country's lost with the choices we make

It's far from the days when the eagle stood tall,

Sure seems like America's headed for a fall

Repeat Pre-Chorus:

Chorus:

Down at Patriots Bar, hear all that is wrong,

where tempers are short, and faces are long

At Patriots Bar, enough blame to go around,

No room for disagreement, not here in this town

Verse:

Big Jim is exhausted, fear is no easy game

Everything's wrong, and liberal is to blame

Just a few more beers--things will be clear

Why can't people see that disaster is near?

Repeat Pre-Chorus:

Repeat Chorus:
