'White House'

'White House'

Cream, and not Cream!

Cream--'White Room'

In the white room with black curtains near the station

Black roof country, no gold pavements, tired starlings

Silver horses ran down moonbeams in your dark eyes

Dawnlight smiles on you leaving, my contentment

I'll wait in this place where the sun never shines

Wait in this place where the shadows run from themselves

You said no strings could secure you at the station

Platform ticket, restless diesels, goodbye windows

I walked into such a sad time at the station

As I walked out, felt my own need just beginning

I'll wait in the queue when the trains come back

Lie with you where the shadows run from themselves

At the party she was kindness in the hard crowd

Consolation for the old wound now forgotten

Yellow tigers crouched in jungles in her dark eyes

She's just dressing, goodbye windows, tired starlings

I'll sleep in this place with the lonely crowd

Lie in the dark where the shadows run from themselves

Songwriters: Jack Bruce / Pete Brown

NOT Cream--'White House'

In the White House, such crude ego, brain castration

Black heart hero of the far right, he's their darling

Monstrous destroyer runs down your a*s, and your pipe dreams

Darkness smiles, never leaving, discontentment

I'll live in this place, where the sun never shines,

Live in this place where up is now down, this is Hell

You said no Dems can defeat you, you are God-like

won election, divide nation, goodbye Uncle

We walked into, such a nightmare, in dream's clothing

As I was watching, that November, disbelieving

I wait in the dark, Mack truck ran us down

Lies' what you do, cling to sanity by ourselves

As a party, so complicit, are the Repubs

Consolation for this new wound, not forgotten

Junior high school, now in power, can't believe it

Just a symptom, of our lost ways, think he's normal

I wait in the dark, Mack truck ran us down

Lies' what you do, cling to sanity by ourselves
