Hopeful Resistance

Hopeful Resistance

A Poem by monike
"

A confesion of my inward frustration.

"

I keep thinking of you,
You are in my thoughts,
A distraction,
Clouding my thoughts,
Torturing my heart,
So fragile already,
So hurt,
So ready to be loved,
But knowing that heartache,
Is all that could come,
Of  the affection I have,
Of the love we could share,
Of the truth hiding,
In the back of my mind,
Pushing against my wall,
Of hopeful resistance.

I love the idea of distraction confronting desire. Love is a complicating thing and I think you've pinned down the essential struggle within each of us. It is the choice to either give in and risk getting hurt in the end or to live without love and feel incomplete.
Very nicely penned. The rhythm is very nice and you've touched on a great subject.
