Evil

Evil

A Poem by Diane

Do you feel that chill that caresses your skin
The pain of hell that you put them in
The fear of losing yourself from within
would be a treat for a beast as ye

Do you hear the screams of the tortured souls
The ones that you didn't care to console
Their screams bite you at the core of the night
From the hands of their killer
you will have a lot of sleepless nights

They are in your head
They are there for good
To do unto you
As you had done them

Do you feel yourself slipping
Falling into the deep
That harm that you have done
Is now earning their keep
You will not survive the torment in store
For this is that fate that you have desperately asked for

It's too late now to right your wrongs
For you are now too long gone
You will suffer as those you have put down.
Good riddance
Goodbye
So long

Twas a taste, a glimmer a taunt
She now knows of our daily haunts
She scripts of the experiencing the scare

We peer at her from the shadows
Wondering if she'll recall the vision
Doubtful, probably another accidental happenstance

You see, a few, for what ever the reason
Are given glance to our mental instabilities
Most disregard the occasion as a horrible nightmare

A few, rare as they are, as you have just read
Ponder if such existence doth be there
Some evenings, before they sleep, they include us in their prayers

Curiously we ponder,
Doth one pray for us because of their experiences
Or are we mentioned out of fear to not want to visit there anew

Oh the poor few
If they only knew
Twas prayer answered that gave them the visitation

We oft see such as thee
Once here but never really comprehend nor care
Eventually, cast aside the visit like they cast us aside, and ultimately we are forgotten

So we wonder
Why are they granted temporary omission to our plunder
When they always and intentionally forget our constant misery

I Belive there are many different levels of evil. The one you have written about is the upper echelon. Well done

Thank you much!
OOOOOO that is a powerful condemnation! Evil, and people who do evil are certainly NOT NICE. But I think it is worth remembering that retribution breeds retribution. I think if the horrible scary things stay in fiction that is ok. Sometimes if we see a film or read a story about 'Beasts' it makes us feel so grateful that they are not real. But, bad things do happen in real life ... quite a problem. Good for you for writing this poem.

Thank you for reading and review!
The night and nights clash in the end rhymes being too similar and breaks the flow in similarities otherwise not bad at all and the story was most entertaining.
