Irony

Irony

A Poem by Nicole Clarice Anna Wiest

The house was eerie.

Dark skins cast shadows on the aligning walls.

Wild animals

creep within the doorways;

Too wild to tame,

but too tame to be wild.

She sat.

Curled up in the tiny room

her night hair cast over her face

waiting for the calm

the silence

that she longed for.

The growls,

the hisses

filled her ears.

She had no where to go,

nor could she leave.

She thought to herself

with great hopelessness,

"Why me, why now?"

They would not kill her,

nor would she remain alive.

Caught in a limbo

she never thought existed.

Dead to no one but herself,

but missed by no one, no one.

She was lost

to never be found.

No search party

No grieving relatives.

A w***e suffering her own demise.

"This is the end" She thought

- Then lived forever

You create a very interesting tale. You had fear, animals roaming and fear of never being found. A powerful poem. No wasted words in this powerful poem. A very good ending to a excellent poem.
