Impressive and not resembling

Impressive and not resembling

A Poem by Mufaro Kudakwashe Joseph Mangono

Look at dawn waving goodbye

Look at us hating each other

Look at us featuring on the list of the dead

Look at the beauty of the world

Look at those, wind soaked hearts

Just look at all there is to look at

Do you hear the still air snob?

Do you see yourself crying?

Do you think there is room for impersonating?

Do we still live?

Do you admire all you see?

Do you act in talks?

I am sure it is not hard to notice

And so we have roamed the seven seas

Captured gold on our way to death

And searched for solutions in storms and harsh winds

Mended our ship but never our hearts

That we may just conclude

That all has been to accord and not to will

That all is resembling and not impressive.
