Face It

Face It

A Poem by Williamson Groos

(I)
white, brown, black.
white is positive, optimistic, sheltered.
blinders are up for white.
bland and uneventful.
pure and good-for-anything.
conceited and filled with greed.
brown is sketchy, foggy, questioned.
guards are up for brown.
menace, but hard-working.
bearded and strapped with time-bombs.
illegal and unwelcome.
black is sneaky, different, secluded.
warrants are up for black.
extravagant and full of passion.
intelligent, but given no chances.
thief and chained in shackles. still.
(II)
white is brown,
brown is black,
black is white.
white is brown is black
is brown is white is black
is a face.
face it.
face is color.
color is face.
