short, but SWEET. this has to be one of my favorite poems simply because there are many possibilities for the end of it. and that it says so much, packed into three lines.

This on automatically made me grin.
I could picture this happening, probably almost exactly as you did as you were writing it.
Your words described it as such.

A perfect poem in economy of words.
You say so much with so few words.
The wolves are returning to South Dakota,
the prairie rangeland they inhabitated by the
thousands at one time . Old Three Toes would
enjoy your sentiments, he was the last wolf to
inhabit the great plains, his body is on exhibit in a
museum in Deadwood, South Dakota.
