Too Late

Too Late

A Poem by nakerjay
"

Something I wrote while driving down the road...

"

Memories bring me
Echoes of voices
Caresses in the night

I glimpse a face
I catch a scent
I feel your hand

You've come to haunt
Renewing my pain
You had walked away

Should've kept you here
Should've made you stay
Should've said I cared

The things I would say
Now forever too late
Standing at your grave.

I liked how this one turned out! The flow was excellent and the theme left us pondering exactly what was being thought about till the very end. Nice job to that!

One thing you might do : Stanza 3 Line 3 "Day you walked away" Change to "You had walked away"
Would read much better, and keep the same meaning.

Nice work!

I really didn't see that ending coming... Really beautiful write, I loved it. Perfect for my contest, the Heart's Demise. Again, wonderful.
