Romeo's Quest

Romeo's Quest

A Poem by Nan
"

based on Shakespeare's "Romeo and Juliet" for prompt 11 for the Pagemasters

"

come, be for me, first face of dawn

that I behold is my true love

for twilight's mask is certain on

light's last breath is fading through

she pales among dark's frightning hold

her music pure, delightful sings

all is shed in night's sweet folds

beyond fear, sweet love, love's gift she brings

this night, to hold you in my arms

and feel the colors of your soul

dream with me now, first face of dawn

'tis legacy that hate's grown old

come, her master paints a bright new stage

where love is want to name her age

Hi Nan, Yay someone finaly did Romeo and Julliet, what love story. Nice piece.
And for this one I leave...

a thousand lonely deaths rest upon twilights age
and all would seem petty, if but to hold thee once
just once and one kiss and one embrace.
In fading light thine smile might light the path
to heavens and stars of rest, ne'er to search again,
Hearts beckoned home, one eternal love
this may erase a thousand lonely deaths.

Nan, hello It is beautiful!
You have such talent with images and descriptions.. I love this spin off of the great Romeo and Juliet.
Love the line ' to feel the colors of your soul.'

Ohmygoodness! See? This is positively where I stumble ~ now THIS is poetry in true keeping of the spirit with which the challenge was made ...... such personification in language that delights the tongue and swoons the heart. The second stanza, I could hear her voice upon the breeze, like silver bells in moonlight. Gorgeous, Nan. Your talent exceeds parameters.

This was just breathtaking, the rhyme, the meter, the imagery and the Shakespearan language all combining into one masterpiece. The way you capture the intense love.
