Smoky Waters

Smoky Waters

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

Stock Image of Vermillion Lake Alberta Canada

Smokey Waters

Smokey waters extinguise flames

Burning out of control

Call down the rain

Join at water's edge

Whispering winds

Feed not the flames of stirfe

Stand still your ground

And allow the rain to fall

Smoky waters go to the extreme

Slush around us to and fro

Drinch each and every spark

Until flames burn no more

Beauiful title for a lovely poem. I think it is so interesting that you choose the title and then write the poem...I am often inspired by titles ...

Excellent piece!
