Into Thy Hands

Into Thy Hands

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

Hands of God Image

praying hands

Into Thy Hands Oh Lord

Light of mind fell in confusion

Couldn’t remember, not an illusion

God turned out the light for a reason

It only lasted for a short season

Use your mind to My glory

Do a Bible Study; tell My story

Slowly but surely the light returned

This is a lesson that had to be learned

I’m an author now I told the story

Of prophecies and of God’s glory

Light of my eyes dimmed and blurred

Unable to read the written word

Blinded so I could see what’s essential

And finally live up to my potential

Yes God turns the light off at times

To allow the mind to speak in rhymes

And listen for His Still Small Voice

And when we do, oh how we rejoice

Then He washed over me making me whole

So I will achieve my heavenly goal

Lights are snuffed out once more

To remind me that God is my life’s core

My heart and kidneys had failed

Reminding me of His hands that were nailed

I cried out into Thy hands oh Lord I pray

His answer came that very day

Doctors were amazed; a miracle it’s true

We all agree that God has healed you

Up from my death bed God lifted me

Into Thy hands was God’s decree
