Christmas Snowflakes

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

Christmas Snowflakes

Pink snowflakes a falling

Falling in pinkish hues

A child’s mind sees the impossible

And looks for pinkish clues

Falling all around ~ are

Snowflakes of a another time

They flutter across the mind

In each Christmas rhyme

Remember when all was new

In pink and colors bright

Magic of the season

The child in me held tight

Now I’m old, but I still feel

The child who lives in me

Each Christmas Eve night

Snowflakes turn pink you see

I remember tasting sweetness

As they fell through the air

Carried on a winter breeze

Falling everywhere

With mouth wide open

My tongue freezing in the breeze

Pink snowflakes so tasty

Send down more God if you please
