Reflection of a Prayer

Reflection of a Prayer

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

Reflection of a Prayer

Is she a ghost in the wind?

Her identity lost

Hair tangled and matted

She’s lost in a maze

Engulfed in this forest glade

Where fairies and ghost now reside

Her heart has been betrayed

Fairies seek only to help her

Ghosts attempt to claim her soul

She cowers near the pool

Bathed in heaven’s light

She whispers a prayer

Praying to glimpse her face

Her heart feels God is there

Her reflection wasn’t there

Only a moment ago

Now emerging from the depths

Her identity returns to her soul

She’s the fairy queen

Malondra is her name

Sovereign ruler of this forest green

She’s conquered the haunting

With her sweet voiced prayer

Her wings are emerging

Beneath her tangled hair

She’s driven out the banshee

With a single heartfelt prayer

Down on Bended knee

Reclaiming your lost self through prayer... When everything seems to go wrong and you've lost yourself and your identity along the way.. say a prayer and you will find yourself once again. A lovely message Nancy!
A wonderful tale told as well! :)
