Haiku Seven Sins

Haiku Seven Sins

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

Haiku Seven Sins

Seven deadly sins

Ruination of the soul

Each one breeds the next

Lust of a man’s soul

Brought into the light of day

Darkness cannot hide

Gluttony enjoyed

For a brief moment in time

The scales tell the tale

Greed is evil’s root

An overwhelming desire

Must have More, More, More!

Sinful slothfulness

Satan desires idle hands

Those who don’t work starve

Wrath in the moment

Anger breeds sinful nature

And destroys the soul

Envy burns the heart

Desires other’s possessions

A green eyed monster

Pride before the fall

Arrogance of one’s self worth

Better than others

Have you fallen short

Beware your sinful nature

Mankind’s fall from grace

Mankind’s Salvation

Jesus Christ died for your sins

Back into God’s Grace

SWEET! I find it extremly hard to write in a box/style i.e haiku's. However you took said box and made me realize that a haiku is really just a box within a box (poetry). Yeah there are somethings that are just known, however it took a great piece for me to turly understand the possiblities.

Thanks
