Embrace the Dawn

Embrace the Dawn

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

Embrace the Dawn

Not knowing when the dawn will ever come

I lay in the darkness

Straining to see the light

Whispering a prayer

To turn away the night

Not knowing when the dawn will ever come

I watch with bated breath

My heart beats in time

I’m embracing the dawn

Within my cosmic rhyme

Not knowing when it will ever come again

I savor each moment

As light fills my soul

Embracing each glimmer

As this dawn makes me whole

loved the title and the picture....
the poem is awesome... but i loved the end.... esplly the last line that so fearlessly says that this dawn completes me! :)

Very nice indeed Nancy. I too have experienced that moment....that magical time of waiting with expectation
for the dawn to break and say farewell to the dark. One seems closer to their Creator at that special
time. Loved it!

You did a beautiful job making this phrase your own, Nancy. Dawn has always represented hope to me; and, at the darkest times in our lives, hope is what we most need. Lovely work! Thank you for joining the challenge. Sharon

Dawn does have that magical effect on the inner being, the soul: a cosmic sign, a reassurance of rebirth and that life goes on. I can safely say that each new dawn is unique in its formation, the colors, the shades, the atmosphere. Simply magnificent!
Nicely penned.
