Stupid Cupid

Stupid Cupid

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

Hearts with kisses heart with a rose  Hearts with kisses

Stupid Cupid

Some call you stupid Cupid

But I beg to differ you see

Your arrow hit its mark

And brought my love to me

He’ll be my love forever

You knew this right from the start

That he was Mr. Right for me … and

You aimed your arrow at his heart

Stupid may rhyme with your name

And make a better poetic rhyme

But Mr. Valentine has a better sound

I’ll call you that until the end of time

Thanks to you Mr. Valentine

He’s mine forevermore

So I offer this big thank you

For this man that I adore

So don’t be surprised Mr. Valentine

If a big red heart arrives with the snow

Every February on Valentine’s Day

For the Cupid with arrows and a bow

Cupids target
