I personally think what you speak of - is the most difficult thing: To keep love alive.

Perhaps love is letting flow and to let be free what we love, we need a secure balanced inner self.
This was a wonderful SENRYU. I see it on a greeting card with tiny golden letters in cursive. Also, your image choice was perfect.
