Me, myself and I all live inside my mind
Each is separate different from the other
First me the daughter, self-centered to a decree
Craving much of what life had to give
Faithfull wife, loving mommy and lenient grandma
Just being myself throughout so many years
Author and poet came last you see
The focus is on I and being all I can be
The me of my youth will just sit back and watch
As I accomplish many of her youthful dreams
First came the dream of finding my true love sweet
And then discovering what unconditional love can be
As each child is born, one-two-three … and then
Grief fills my heart as the youngest one dies
Number four, a three year old boy
Adopted and has always brought me much joy
Myself, I’ve learned to weather life’s storms
In the night lightning flashes and thunder roars
But soon the sun breaks through with sparking light
Refresh in this life’s sweet afterglow
Child is in heaven waiting his father and me
A ray of hope in my heart of more to come
Myself looks to the future and not the past
Living each day as if it was her last
The I, has become a woman of worth
Knowing the wonder that life has in store
Living each day and writing it down
For posterity’s sake, the generations to come
Each word written is a memory of me, myself and I
I once was daughter, and then a wife
A mommy and a grandma full of love
Poet and author His gifts from above
