Moonbeams Deceive

Moonbeams Deceive

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader
"

Moon Over Alcazar Castle, Segovia pictures

Moonbeams Deceive

Whispering secrets

On moonlit nights in twilight’s after glow

She’s a wilting rose

As roses in mid afternoon sunshine

Moonlight enters the soul

She’s a wilting rose

As roses in mid afternoon sunshine

Moonlight enters the soul

Those moonbeams deceive

Unrequited love comes at dawn

Those moonbeams deceive

Unrequited love comes at dawn

Morning brings no joy

Malady wonders what went wrong

I’ll dry her tears with my kisses

Nice job with the form, Nancy. I could not help but think about how often morning brings the sadness of reality. Sharon
