Who Am I?A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader
Haiku Who Am I? See my striped stockings Bet you can’t guess who I am In your wildest dreams I’m the wicked witch Dorothy just stole my slippers Now they’re on her feet What’s a witch to do? I’ll call upon my sister Get ruby slippers They all think I’m dead In for rude awakening I’ll set her on fire With my sister’s help That snip of a girl won’t win I’m wicked, you know Listens to Glenda Follow the yellow brick road The forest of doom Better not scarecrow Fire ball burns all it touches You insides will burn Tin man you will rust No oil will save you from me Thump thump thump, no heart! Lion has no roar Has no courage to fight me You should run and hide Wonderful Wizard Great wizard is a big joke Sister, do them in Sleep little Dorothy Poppies have nice aroma Now who made it snow I’ll get you for that Glenda, you won’t outwit me The slippers are mine Monkeys go your way Bring back Dorothy and her dog She has met her match Scarecrow thinks it out Tin man guided by his love Hear the lion roar Water puts out fire Oh what a world, what a world Sister we’re melting © 2009 Nancy Lee Shrader |
