Haiku My Hero

Haiku My Hero

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

Haiku

My Hero

My hero I love

He came to this world to die

As a babe he came

He walked among men

Healing the blind and the lame

God in human form

He forgave my sins

The day I called out his name

I felt His arms open wide

He paid my sin debt

By shedding His precious blood

On the cross of pain

Washed away my sins

As the blood gushed from his side

That day long ago

Prepares me a place

In his father house above

He waits for me there

Soon He’ll come for me

In the twinkling of an eye

He will call me home

You ask who He is

This hero that saved my soul

Jesus Christ my King
