My Heart Cries

My Heart Cries

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

heart hearts bleeding bleed blood bloody

My Heart Cries

Shakespearean Sonnet

My heart cries out in the month of May

In the moonlit hours of the night

Praying for the suns comfort of the day

Daylight hours still cut short of light

Mister Sun has less time sparkles and shine

Light in my heart dims as night draws near

This sunny day will soon decline

By chance, I must stay the course and steer

Even though the sun does fade into obscurity

Refuse to lose possession of my heart’s mind

Until death finally closes my eyes of purity

I know true love one day I’ll find

So long as I can see the light

I will not fear the nigh
