Goodbye Winter

Goodbye Winter

A Poem by Nancy Lee Shrader

<><><><><><><><><><><><>

v   Chill is in the air tonight    v

v   Surrounds my entire being   v

v           Time of the snows         v

v     Leave me longing for spring    v

v           I feel winter’s sting             v

v        As it freezes my icy fingers        v

v        The night of the solstice         v

v        I whispered a prayer            v

v Please send a white Christmas  v

v My white Christmas came … but  v

v      Stayed three months          v

v   Never breaking its stride   v

v Surrounding me with snow and ice v

v    Jack Frost has come to dwell    v

v   Freezing my frozen heart       v

v  I cry in the night, and in the day v

v        Don’t wait any longer        v

v Mr. Sun wake from your winters nap v

v I promise to never complain of the heat v

v    When summer scorches my world    v

v          Melt my frozen heart            v

v     Allow me to dance and sing   v

v    I reflex on this problem     v

 v   Of winter’s long stay     v

v  Goodbye Jack Frost    v

v Do not tarry another day v

v Go home to the North Pole  v

v  Santa must miss you by now  v

v       Go now Jack Frost       v

v         I need the sun       v

v         In my face       v

v          Please         v

v         Send         v

 v         The       v

v       Sun     v

Nancy this piece captures well humanity's restlessness....sun or snow which i pleasing to humanity....undecided. However the difference with this piece is its physical sructure. This is out of this world. It is drama itself, with all its effects. I find this absolutely interesting and captivating.

Best Regards,
Vincent

Ah yes! Winter or Summer, I have oft found myself making these beseechments at either season's extreme. I genuinely felt this plea. Wonderfully done Nancy.
