Beneath Still Waters

 

Beneath still waters

Evil lurks in the darkness

Many fathoms down

 

Evil awaits there

Seeking the sinful nature

To open men’s hearts

 

The deceitful one

Promises mankind the world

Wags his lying tongue

 

Weak hearts believe lies

Mankind stands on the threshold

Of eternity

 

Light in the darkness

Reaches out to all mankind

Push evil away

 

Wash your robes mankind

Cleanse yourself in the lamb’s blood

Seek eternal life

Straight and narrow path

All mankind walks a fine line

Lean not to the left

 

Road to sin is wide

Narrow is the path to life

Don’t veer off the path

 

 

 

Beneath still waters

Evil battles with the light

A choice must be maid 

 

He holds out his hand

Jesus kneels at water’s edge

He is your lifeline

 

He leadeth me there

By still waters he knows me

Thank God I am saved
