Illustrious Dream

A Poem by Deepshikha
"
Come my children and hear a story, one that you will behold...
"

Come my children and hear a story,

Of a fair lady and her lord;

A tale of nights and relentless passion,

Sung sweet by the Goddess Moon.

Come my children and hear a story.

Of a time and tale of old;

Starry knights and helpless blight,

A fable of pain and woe.

Come my children and hear a story,

Of dreams and poems untold;

Blackest waters and dayless love,

Longing and loss and snows.

Lady speaks of her lover

And their fateful demise.

She cries for mercy, hopes

For bliss. But Time moves on...

Cruel.

Erebus sings his mournful song;

Cries for his daughter's pain. He

Sends the dark into the depths,

For fire can shine no more...

Evermore.

Come my children and hear a story,

Once more and hold it so;

Never forget Her tears of blood,

Flowing straight from her broken soul.

Come my children and hear a story,

Of a withered and fallen blossom;

Lying there among the ruins,

Veiled amidst the blackened moon.

Author's Note

Thanks to Bhavana for helping me with that last stanza! Oh, and the title was supposed to be \'Alabaster Nights\', but I changed it \'cause \'Illustrious Dreams\' had a better feel for the poem.
I based it from my memories of listening to Modred\'s Lullaby by Heather Dale. And my love of Celtic-style music.
