Waiting

What is waiting behind every shadow?

In the shadow of the truths, the doubts and the lies

A beast lies in waiting for the creatures to rise

For the beings to realize just what’s in hiding

In the shadows of their denying

 

We lie there and wait for the truth to be known

For fear to be instilled in all the ones that we know

For the wicked and cruel to bow on their knees

In sights of the change felt in the breeze

 

We wait in a form; not too different than their own

But our eyes give away the beast that’s unknown

We talk with them while walking right behind

Still our thinking proves we are not of their kind

 

When our teeth are bared

Our claws get sharpened

 And the shadows below will reveal within

What is truly protected beneath our cold pale skin

 

Still through the signs, we are considered insane

By the ones who think they are top of the chain

For even after it begins they will continue to ignore

What they were supposed to learn through the lore

So we will stand and wait amongst the lies

For the time to come - for darkness to rise

Our shadows will fall

And we shall be known to all

Author's Note

I'm not so good at rhyming and tried my best to get it right. Some lines still feel slightly out of place to me but not sure if they do to the reader. This is actually an old poem i picked out to work on and try to fix up and this is what i came up with. Please let me know what you think and i thank you for reading my poem.

Hello, hello! It is I, Atta from Wajas. I absolutely love this poem, well done. The only issue is when you rhymed know with known, however you pointed out you aren't very good at rhyming so youare forgiven.
To be honest I think the rest of the rhyming is great, keep up your awsome work!

Thank you very much for what you said. Yeah i am trying to grab a hold of rhyming but i just cant. Those two lines did feel out of place to me because of the known and know. but thanks for liking my poem. ^-^
