Darkness

Darkness

A Poem by Nawal Asghar

The demons from my past,
The darkness of the vast;
Attacking me with all their might,
Each and every night.

I gasp for air with a brighter scope,
Yet I see, neither light nor hope;
Lost I am in this gravity,
Holding me back is this strong entity.

I might get through this story,
Shattering all the norms;
I’ll break the glass for sure,
A scarred history, purely impure.

Living far away in a world rejected,
Lies her heart broken and dejected;
Breathe it back to life,
You see it’s stabbed by a pike.

Strangled by a strong grip,
Neither a knife, nor a rip;
But a strong word,
And this cruel world;
Killed her soul,
And her whole.

When I read this poem, it really reminded me of how I write, and things I have already written. I was able to relate to what you were saying. Well done!
