Condolences for the Unheard

Condolences for the Unheard

A Poem by Norie C
"

Just a bit of pondering and philosophy.

"
Give me sympathy,

Give me sorrow,

Give me innocence,

Give me tomorrow,

Give me a fence; white and picket,

Give me something,

Something that makes sense,

Whatever that may be,

Please give it kindly and let it take hold of me,

Lost beneath these sheets,

Black and white they are,

No color; no hint of what could be afar,

Lifeless nature,

Mindless character,

What is to follow there and after?

Whether pretentious or simply curious,

A subdued conscience is not a conscience at all,

Questions to ask:

To stand or to crawl?

To cower or to tower?

To live or to wish?

A foundation cannot be dismissed,

Rip, rip, rip,

This wasn't in the script,

Shift, shift, shift,

Is this the right spot?

Do you catch my drift?

You leave me with a puzzle and then give me a muzzle,

Are my eyes enough to tell you the story?

Are they enough to feed your pride?

Give you glory?

Perhaps you never wanted to hear,

Well that's alright; no fear, no fear,

Tonight I dine in all my well-kept perceptions,

They are not for anyone to know anyway; they are but my own life lessons.
