These colours are so wondrous,
Must they fade away?
You can hide from me for now,
But only for these few days.
Will you join me willfully,
Or must I take your way?
Will it be in vain?

Curiosity fulfills me,
Shall I join you myself?
Will I come to a heaven, a hell?
Will you come fast paced,
sweet, slow? I will never know.
Will you enlighten me now?
Will I come to love you, hate you?
Do I dread you, await you?

But it is not your time yet, don’t fret.
Pray, soon it may. Patience, darling.
For now I shall leave you.

Will these colours still be wondrous,
Honey, after I join you?

Author's Note

Maria
This is my first proper poem. I'm not sure if anyone understands it, but it's about Death having a conversation with a person.

almost like a love affair, death comes and joins us...this reminds me of emily dickinson's "because i could not stop for death"--

this is quite good...but i would leave out the explanation in the author's note...let the reader read into it what he or she will..because this could be open to many interpretations...and would be better left that way.

good writing..very good writing.

I appreciate your efforts.
The conversation is awesome.
Perhaps some individuals pass through such conversation during disease or certain mental
crisis.

What an interesting poem! You have very good word choice, and I sense a tad of confusion as well in these words. Nonetheless, it is very well written and kudos to you!
